Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to fulfil your order and run the store.
Last updated: 3 June 2026
Information we collect
- Contact and order details: name, email, shipping and billing address, items ordered.
- Payment information: processed directly by Stripe — see below.
- Usage data: basic analytics (pages viewed, device type) to improve the store.
Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal
Payments on this website are processed by third-party payment providers — Stripe and PayPal. We do not collect, process or store your full payment card details on our servers. When you make a purchase, the payment information you submit is transmitted directly to and processed by the applicable provider in a PCI-DSS compliant environment.
To complete a purchase we share the information necessary to take payment — such as your name, email, billing and shipping address and order amount — with the chosen provider for payment processing and fraud prevention. Each provider acts as an independent data controller with respect to the payment information it processes, in accordance with its own privacy policy: Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) and PayPal (paypal.com/us/legalhub/privacy-full).
All prices are charged in United States Dollars (USD). Your bank or card statement will show a charge from "RUTHERFORD HOME" or the relevant payment provider's descriptor.
How we use your information
- To process, fulfil and deliver your orders
- To provide customer support and order updates
- To send marketing emails only if you opt in (unsubscribe anytime)
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet legal obligations
International transfers
We operate from New Zealand and use service providers (including Stripe and our fulfilment and analytics partners) that may process data in other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, the EU/UK GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to opt out of marketing. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
